The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma hosted a free screening of the film “Powwow People” on June 14. Tickets were given out for all 96-seats at the District Cinema at the Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant. Members of the Anoli Dance Troupe opened the event with a live powwow dance demonstration, and director Sky Hopinka spoke and answered audience questions at the conclusion of the one-hour-and-28-minute film.
