Choctaw students begin studies in Ireland

The Durant Fire Department visited Northwest Heights, George Washington and Washington Irving elementary schools last week to educate third graders about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and provide them a hands-on experience using fire-rescue equipment.

Enrollment nearing 3,900 in Durant School District

The democracy movement

This is not the column I had planned to write. I started out to write one titled “Where Is Our Partner Party?” The gist would have been that our democracy works best when we have two strong political parties, a center-left one and a center-right one.
