Groundbreaking ceremony held for Waterside at Lake Texoma

KINGSTON — On August 26, Honey Creek Ventures hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Waterside at Lake Texoma residential neighborhood. The event, held under a large outdoor tent on Post Office Road south of Kingston, was attended by approximately 40 guests.

The Bryan County Teacher’s Association had its annual teachers meeting Aug. 30 at Bloomer Sullivan Arena where awards were presented.

Agency that helps the homeless closes

The Mission -I’m Possible Inc., an organization that helps those experiencing homelessness, announced last week that it has closed its doors. Marissa Bancewicz served as the executive director of The Mission.

Woman drowns at Lake Texoma

A Bryan County woman drowned near Duck Island on Lake Texoma, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. According to OHP, 41-year-old Allyson Byron was in the water at about 4:50 p.m.
