Albertsons coming to Durant

Durant City Council in its regular meeting Aug.12 voted on an economic development agreement that will bring an Albertsons grocery store to Durant. The city said it is committed to pursuing strategic investments that strengthen the local economy and enhance quality of life for residents.

Policies and revisions discussed at school board meeting

New policies and revisions to existing ones as required by the Oklahoma Legislature were discussed and approved at last week’s meeting of the Durant Board of Education.

The Bryan County Free Fair is scheduled for September 2nd through the 6th. With the fair being only a few weeks away, it’s time to start getting your canning, quilts, crafts, vegetables and chickens ready for the county fair.

Durant man killed in crash

A Durant man was killed Monday in a single-vehicle accident, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. According to OHP, 58-year-old Michael Shane Sexton died in the 1:45 a.m.
