CrainCo AI Innovation Lab to open at Southeastern in Spring 2027

Local alumni-owned business CrainCo has committed to the funding of construction of the new “CrainCo AI Innovation Lab” at Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s John Massey School of Business.

Southeastern student singers excel at NATS conference

CHICKASHA – Students from Southeastern Oklahoma State University delivered an outstanding performance at the Oklahoma chapter conference and student auditions of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), held recently at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
Durant firefighters are shown at the scene of a crash involving five vehicles Monday afternoon in the northbound lanes of Highway 69/75. According to Durant Police, inattentive driving is the suspected cause and there also was a temporary lane closure with tra slowed down or stopped. Two people were taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. The accident backed up tra for miles until police and firefighters cleared the scene. Bullard signs with Redlands Community College

Durant High School senior Lydia Bullard has signed with the beef show team at Redlands Community College in El Reno. DHS Agricultural education teacher Kayla Adams said the agriculture program was blessed to have had Bullard for the last five years.

Earth Day Festival is a success

The Durant Sustainability Coalition’s annual Earth Day Festival last Saturday was a success with many people attending the event that was held at Dixon Durant (Rocket) Park. Jeremy Spence, DSC board chair, credited the good weather as a factor.
