As the calendar ushered in another Earth Day, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) continues to lead the way for southeast Oklahoma in recycling efforts.
April 22 marked Earth Day 2024 and CNO Recycling Services operate year around.
CNO Recycling Services provide programs to Choctaw Nation facilities, tribal members and the communities within the Choctaw Reservation. Recycling provides environmentally responsible practices through the collection and processing of recyclable material in the Choctaw Nation, reducing waste streams, and returning revenue to the tribe.
There are 121 Choctaw recycling collection sites across 10½ counties in southeast Oklahoma. The Choctaw Nation has two full recycling centers, the Durant Recycling Center and the Poteau Recycling Center, open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
