Three Valley Riders raise money for Feeding Hope

The Three Valley Riders raised money for Feeding Hope during the Christmas in July Dice Run & Auction Saturday at Durant Elks Lodge.

Feeding Hope, formerly called Families Feeding Families, has been providing meals to the community for 20 years and the organization is currently constructing a building at 424 E. Florida St.

Keri Gowin-Juarez, executive director of Feeding Hope, said a little more than $6,000 was raised during the dice run and auction.

“We are making steady progress on our building, though we don’t have a firm opening date yet,” she said. “Many of our contractors are generously donating their labor, which means we are working around their schedules. However, we are excited to announce that we will be serving our Thanksgiving dinner in the new building, even if it means using brought in tables and food warmers. We are still actively raising funds for the kitchen items.

“We are incredibly thankful for the community’s ongoing support. Just this past weekend, the Three Valley Riders hosted a dice run and auction, raising over $6,000. Your continued support is truly appreciated as we work toward our goal. We can’t wait to get into the building and are thankful to God for all He continues to do to help us through this process.”

Gowin-Juarez said there was also a golf tournament July 18 where the community stepped up and helped Feeding Hope. The tournament is planned to be an annual event.

The dice run benefit is one of many events organized by local motorcyclists to benefit the community.

“The Three Valley Riders is honored to be able to do this annual benefit for Feeding Hope,” said Michael Mewszel, of TVR.
