The Blast from the Past car club presented a total of $6,000 in checks to three community organizations.
The American Legion, Crisis Control Center and The Bryan Baptist Association Great Physician’s Pharmacy/ Medical Clinic each received $2,000 during the car club’s meeting Sept. 5 at Wright’s Drive-In.
Lynn Smith, president of Blast from the Past, said the organization will be providing more donations in the future.
The club has the annual Draggin’ Main Car Show in June.
“This is all from the car show,” Smith said. “Everything we do comes from the car show. That’s our only fundraiser. We give it all right back to the community. Everything stays here in Bryan County. None of it gets out of Bryan. “We’re going to give away probably $12,000 all total.”
The club meets at 5:30 the first Thursday of the month.
