Lady Rebels bow out in 3A state opener

The Silo Lady Rebels ran into defending state champ Perry in the Class 3A state fastpitch opening round and saw their season ended for a second year in a row to the Lady Maroons in a 6-1 decision at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.

Ending the season with a 32-11 record, Silo had numerous early opportunities offensively but could only manage one run in the first two frames, leaving the bases loaded in both of those stanzas.

Perry, meanwhile, took advantage of its chances, plating three first inning runs on the strength of a walk and three singles. Silo answered in the bottom of the frame, getting leadoff hits from Timber Hensley and Dylan Paddock along with a walk to Connie Tubby with nobody out.

The Lady Rebels could only get one across however on a bases loaded walk to Trinity Ford.

An opening single from Kamrey Hendricks and two walks loaded the sack again in the second frame but Silo went scoreless and trailed 3-1 heading to the third inning.

Coach Mike Lawless’ unit tallied six hits in the contest as Paddock and Hendricks notched two apiece with Hensley adding a single and Cache Atwood a double.

Three errors also hindered Silo’s chances as Hensley was saddled with loss in the pitching circle, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits while adding a strikeout.
