The Kiwanis Club of Durant’s 43rd annual Durant Community Prayer Breakfast will be at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Building, 305 W. Montgomery Drive on the Southeastern campus north of the baseball field.
The Baptist Collegiate Ministry Building was recently dedicated and the Kiwanis Club said the location for this year’s breakfast is significant not only because of the completion of this beautiful facility but also for its connection to the university.
The breakfast will have a special emphasis on Southeastern beginning with the speaker, Trey Hedrick, director of the BCM.
Representatives of various campus organizations will be part of the program: - Fasri Ellison, director, Wesleyan Campus Ministries and Fellowship of Christian Athletes - Jared Hyatt, director, Church of Christ Student Bible Center - Dr. Abby Musgrove and the SE Chorale Ensemble - Dr. Thomas Newsom, SE president The breakfast will end no later than 8 a.m. and the Kiwanis Club invites individuals, churches, civic organizations and businesses to join them as Prayer Breakfast Partners by donating $100. In return, they will receive 10 tickets to the breakfast. Proceeds support the Durant High School Baccalaureate and Spiritual Aims scholarships.
