Three-time defending state champ Caddo started the run toward a four-peat in claiming a pair of Class 3A district wins over Wilson.
The Lady Bruins won a tight 4-2 decision in the opener ahead of smashing the Lady Eagles 12-0 in the second contest.
Caddo erased a 2-1 second inning deficit in game one by plating three in the bottom of the frame fueled by a Logan Busby RBI single. Busby and Jaycie Nichols each posted two of the Lady Bruins’ seven hits.
Coach Dustin McKay’s squad found the bats in game two as they pounded 15 hits in only four innings for the run rule. They scored twice in the second inning, four times in the third and six more in the fourth frame.
Rylan Peevyhouse and Lyndee Harless racked up three hits apiece to fuel the Caddo charge. Jordyn Nichols, Presley Beck and Busby each notched two hits.
Calera Softball
Eighth ranked Calera got its offensive attack in high gear to sweep to the Class 4A district crown in convincing fashion.
The Lady Bulldogs blanked Wilburton, 8-0, before belting Heavener twice by scores of 15-3 and 10-1.
Taylynn Conder posted three hits and drove in four to lead the opening game charge with Rilyn Teafatiller and Taibree Melton chipping in a double apiece.
Melton, Auhnesty Maytubby and Tori Allmon all posted three as Calera rallied from a 3-2 deficit with a 13-run third inning barrage in the Heavener first outing. Teafatiller had two hits and knocked in four.
Another big scoring outburst proved decisive in the championship contest as Calera erupted with eight runs to break it wide open.
Melton had three hits once again with two apiece from Allmon and Taryn Niblett.
Silo Softball
The defending state champion Lady Rebels cruised to three run rule verdicts in claiming another 4A district title.
They blasted Atoka, 11-3, after spotting the Lady Cats a 3-0 lead as they notched a plethora of doubles, including two from Jayci Webb. Paisley Johnson contributed three hits and drove in a pair to lead the charge.
In a 10-0 smashing of Wynnewood, Silo rode a pair of Kostina Tubby home runs as the sophomore drove in three runs. Neely House also tossed in a pair of doubles.
House was the catalyst in an 11-3 title game win as she homered and doubled as part of three hits and four runs batted in. Connie Tubby, Kostina Tubby, Webb and Johnson all had two hits.
