Southeastern Oklahoma State University President Dr. Thomas Newsom has been named president of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, the Kansas Board of Regents announced June 20.
Newsom was chosen after a search committee spent several months narrowing the field of applicants and KBOR conducted a day of interviews with finalists.
He has served as president of Southeastern Oklahoma State University since April 2020. Newsom has spent more than 20 years in higher educat i o n , leading several colleges and universities on the path to aca- demic excellence and achievement.
