A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Calera man, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jaron D. Phelps died in the 8:09 a.m. accident at South Ranchette Road and Max Road on Dec. 13, according to OHP.
The OHP report stated Phelps was operating a motorcycle eastbound on Max Road at a high rate of speed when he drove through a T-intersection at Ranchette Road and struck a railroad track. Phelps was thrown from the motorcycle.
Phelps was a 2015 graduate of Achille High School and in a social media post, the school district said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who loved him during this difficult time. May they find comfort, peace, and strength in the days ahead.”
He leaves behind two young daughters and a GoFundMe account (www.gofundme. com/f/honoring-jarons-memory- and-helping-his-girls) has been established to honor his memory and help the family with expenses.
