Silo boys took runner-up honors, girls placed third and Colbert claimed both consolation titles, including a boy’s victory over rival Calera in the Boyd Houser Invitational at Tishomingo last weekend.
The Rebels were the top finishers of area squads by toppling Colbert (53-41) and Valliant (56-52) ahead of a 66-42 loss to Lindsay in the title tilt.
Silo girls, meanwhile, sandwiched victories over Coalgate (56-12) and Lindsay (50-27) between their first loss of the season to Valliant (39-31).
Colbert, meanwhile, tackled Tishomingo (4541) on the way to the girls consolation title while the Leopards won a low-scoring slugfest over Calera (49-41).
The Rebels couldn’t get much going against an undefeated Lindsay club in the championship as poor shooting did them in early on.
Lindsay led 14-7 through one quarter, 3119 at halftime and 51-31 following the third. Sam Mendenall was the lone double figure scorer for Silo with 15 points.
Silo was coming off a highly charged impressive triumph against a previously unbeaten Valliant squad as they held their own on the boards and built as much as an 18-point advantage.
Cash Danker had a huge second half to finish with a game-high 19. Blane Beauchamp contributed nine points and five rebounds with Hayden Roberts adding eight points and seven boards.
After a disastrous semifinal loss, the Lady Rebels rebounded to cruise by Lindsay as they steadily pulled away throughout. Kynleigh Silo Lady Rebel Kostina Tubby shoots the ball during a recent game with Colbert.
Pierce provided a team-high 14 points as Olivia Clark finished with nine and Mia Goodlow had eight.
In the semifinal loss, Pierce was the only player to reach double figures with 10 points.
