Bennington man killed in head-on crash

A Bennington man was killed Sunday in a head-on crash in Durant, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said, and jail records state the driver of a vehicle involved was intoxicated.

Twenty-f ive-year-old Levi W. Milam died from injuries during the 2:55 p.m. crash on Highway 70 at Western Hills Drive in Durant.

OHP said 39-year-old Terrius L. Purvey of Gainesville, Texas, was driving eastbound on Highway 70 when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a westbound car driven by 33-year-old Casy L. Jordan of Bokchito. Milam was a passenger in Jordan’s vehicle.

Purvey was booked into the the Bryan County Jail for suspicion of seconddegree murder, felony DUI, false impersonation and driving while license is suspended or revoked, according to jail records.

According to OHP, Purvey and Jordan were not injured. A passenger in each vehicle had injuries.

The Traffic Homicide Division of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
