Colbert sweeps Calera; Silo splits pair

Gearing up for the upcoming hardwood playoffs, Colbert swept Calera in Bryan County Conference action. Silo also forged a split with Eufaula for Homecoming and Senior Night festivities.

The Lady Leopards held on for a narrow 35-33 victory in the girls’ contest and the Leopards pulled away in the second half for a 62-44 triumph.

Silo girls, meanwhile, took control in the third quarter for a 49-41 win but Rebels weren’t as fortunate in falling to the athletic visitors, 85-66.

Calera visits Latta for the Class 2A district playoffs this week while Colbert plays host to Tushka. Both will advance to regional tournament action next week at Latta.

The Rebels, meanwhile, will open the Class 3A playoffs with district playoffs against Antlers at home Friday night.
