Silo smashed 17 home runs over a twoday span and blasted their way to the Turnpike Classic slow pitch championship, including a 15-5 run rule over Class 5A top-ranked Washington in the title tilt.
The Lady Rebels put up double figure run totals in every game, posting wins over Dickson (12-0), North Rock Creek (16-8), Stonewall (14-2), Roff (13-0) and finally Washington (15-5).
Senior Connie Tubby had a monstrous offensive performance in the event, blistering three doubles and six home runs while driving in a whopping 19 runs.
Neely House smacked six homers as well and two doubles in addition to knocking in 11. Kostina Tubby also belted three roundtrippers and added 12 RBI to the total for the Class 4A third-ranked Lady Rebels.
Caddo Softball
The top-ranked Lady Bruins reached the semifinals of the rugged Kiowa tournament before bowing out with a 14-7 loss to 4A powerhouse Hartshorne.
Caddo cruised to three wins in the event, easily outdistancing Coalgate (112), Kiowa (10-4) and Stuart (8-0), but came up on the short end of a 21-6 loss to powerhouse Pocola in pool play action.
Gage Vaughn, Audrey Hughes, Laynie Busby and Brilee Tyson all had two hits in the Coalgate contest with Braylee Malone, Presley Beck, Kayden Prince and Tyson getting in on the action with two hits facing Kiowa.
Brylee Daniel homered against Stuart while Prince, Hughes, Tyson and Harlee Taylor each contributed two hits.
Beck powered a three-run homer to account for half her squad’s runs in the Pocola setback while Malone contributed a perfect four for four outing at the plate in the Hartshorne shootout. Daniel and Josi Herrington also belted home runs.
Calera Softball
The Lady Bulldogs opened the week with a 9-0 whitewashing of rival Colbert before running into a tough slate with three losses in their final five games of the week.
In the Colbert victory, Calera plated a first inning run when Tori Allmon tripled and scored and then exploded for four in the second and four more in the third frame to break it open early.
Kaira Beller notched a two-run single and Auhnesty Maytubby knocked in two more with a double in the second inning uprising. Rilyn Teafatiller produced a double for the biggest blow in the third inning flurry.
Allmon, Teafatiller and Chanah Palmer each had two hits for Calera while Colbert’s two hits came from Katherine Fisher and Kaylee Andrews.
