Caddo and Silo captured regional baseball crowns last week while Rock Creek fell just short in its bid to reach the state tournament.
The Bruins cruised into the Class A1 state tournament by blasting Mooreland (14-0) as well as a sweep of two contests with Verden (15-1 and 12-2) to bump their record to 20-7 on the season.
The Rebels meanwhile ran away with the Class 3A regional crown to advance to the best-of-three super regional round of the playoffs. They smacked Spiro (14-0) before doubling down with a sweep of Rejoice Christian (24-2 and 11-0).
Rock Creek notched a 2-2 record in the Class A regional, bouncing Hydro-Eakly twice (4-3 and 9-6) with two losses to powerhouse Wright City (17-10 and 7-2).
Caddo
Scoring at least four times in each frame, the host Bruins ended it in only three and a half frames against Mooreland. Kale Brister and Case Tipton combined for a one-hit shutout on the mound, striking out five and walking one.
Jet Rose had a huge game at the plate, finishing only a home run away from the cycle as he posted a single, double and triple in the process of driving in four runs. Boen Proctor blasted a homer and knocked in three runs with Bayler Black also totaling three RBI with one hit.
Proctor blanked Verden for two innings in the initial meeting before Nathaniel Hallmark finished up on the mound. Together they yielded one run on one hit, struck out two and walked three.
Black was the offensive catalyst with a pair of doubles and home run with four runs batted in. Jake McKay also chipped in three hits and knocked in two as Proctor tallied two hits, including a double, with a pair of RBI. Jase Counce tripled and knocked in three for the Bruins.
Caddo put it away in the first two stanzas in the championship game, erupting for five runs in the opening frame and seven in the second. Rose and McKay combined on the pitching decision, allowing one earned run on one hit with six strikeouts and four walks.
Counce and Rose spurred the offensive charge with two hits and two batted in apiece in the sevenhit attack.
Silo
Reign Scasta and Bentley Gambrell combined for the one-hit shutout against Spiro, fanning five batters with one walk mixed in.
Silo scored eight runs in the first inning and six in the second and cruised home from there as they made the most of seven hits. Nolan Northcott had one of those with a home run and drove in three. Blane Beauchamp also notched two hits and two RBI. Aiden McCarty, Jacob Wright and Warner Bradley all doubled.
The Rebel bats stayed hot against Rejoice Christian as they scored 11 times in the opening stanza with seven more in the second and six in the third while pounding out 21 hits in only three innings.
Zane Sander, McCarty and Cannon Atwood contributed three hits apiece with two of Atwood’s coming off doubles. Northcott homered as part of his two hits and drove in four. Bradley had two hits and five RBI, Ty Hatley added two hits and four RBI with Cord Standridge also tallying a pair of hits.
Northcott fired two perfect innings in facing the minimum number of hitters for the win on the mound.
The championship game was scoreless until the fourth when the floodgates opened for Silo with five runs. Bradley knocked in the first two with a two-out single and McCarty followed with a three-run homer.
McCarty earned the mound victory with five frames in which he yielded only two hits and fanned a pair.
Rock Creek
The Mustangs only had five hits in the opening contest but that proved just enough for Konnor Ribera, who allowed only one hit over six-plus innings in a sensational pitching start.
Kelton Teal had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two for the Rock Creek offense.
Rock Creek’s offense exploded for 12 hits in the second contest but couldn’t keep pace with the Lumberjax as they put it away with 12 over their final two at bats of the game.
Teal homered again with three RBI but it was two hits apiece for Aaden Feltman, Konnor Ribera, Ryder Ribera and Jakeb Munholland that led the charge.
Facing Hydro-Eakly in an elimination game, the Mustangs rallied from a 4-3 deficit in the third inning by plating five runs to take command. Ten walks helped the cause as they tallied just four hits with one apiece by Teal, Konnor Ribera, Jarret Barfield and Munholland.
J.W. Edelen scored the mound victory with six and two-third frames, scattering six hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Runs were in short supply in the finale as the Mustangs dug a big hole which they could not dig out of.
They finished with seven hits, two of which came from Munholland. Kenneth Ashby, Teal, Konnor Ribera, Ryder Ribera and Matthew Buchanan notched one each.
