Bryan County District No. 3 Commissioner Brandon Carr was reelected during Tuesday’s primary election and Lance Billing was elected District No. 1 commissioner.
Carr defeated Josh Cross by 79.06 percent, 755 votes compared to 200 votes, 20.94 percent, according to unofficial election returns from the Bryan County Election Board.
Billing received 932 votes, 53.94 percent, compared to 796 votes, 46.06 percent for Nix. That seat was open because Scott Goad did not file for reelection. No Democrats filed for the commissioner races, so those elections were settled in the primary.
For Republican candidates for State Representative District 19, Michael A. Brittingham, received 452 votes, 40.50 percent, Anthony DeVore received 427 votes, 38.26 percent, and Derek Porter had 237 votes, 21.24 percent. District wide, Brittingham received 49.11 percent, Devore 25.71 percent and Porter 25.18 percent.
Brittingham and Devore will face each other in a runoff.
Cyndi Munson won the Democrat primary for governor receiving 72.20 percent, 927 votes, in Bryan County. Statewide, Munson received 74.93 percent. In Bryan County, Democrat governor candidate Connie Johnson received 23.4 percenty wile Arya received 4.36 percent.
In Bryan County, Republican governor candidates received the following votes: Calup Anthony Taylor, 16 votes, 0.41 percent; Jennifer Domenico, 25 votes, 0.64 percent; Gentner Drummond, 679 votes, 17.43 percent; Kenneth Sturgell, 18 votes, 0.46 percent; Chip Keating, 493 votes, 12.65 percent; Mike Mazzei, 1,090 votes, 27.98 percent; Jake A. Merrick, 312 votes, 8.01 percent; Charles McCall, 1,233 votes, 31.65 percent, and Leisa Mitchell Haynes, 30 votes, 0.77 percent.
Drummond received the most votes statewide at 26.26 percent and he will face Mazzei in a runoff, who received 25.97 percent of votes.
For Republican Lt. Governor, the following received votes in Bryan County: T.W. Shannon, 1,281, 34.23 percent; Justin JJ Humphrey, 1,028, 27.47 percent; Darrell Weaver, 543, 14.51 percent; David Ostrowe, 412, 11.01 percent; Brian Hill, 358, 9.57 percent, and H. Victor Flores, 120, 3.21 percent.
Shannon won the election statewide with 53,76 percent. He will face Democrat Kelly Forbes in the November general election.
Republican attorney general candidate Jeff Starling received 1,815 votes, 50.32 percent in Bryan County compared to 1,792 votes, 49.68 percent, for Jon Echols.
Echols won statewide with 55 percent of the votes. He will face Democrat Nick Coffey in the Nov. 3 election.
For Republican state treasurer, Cindy Byrd received 68.86 percent, 2,512 votes, compared to 1,136 votes 31.14 percent for Todd Russ, who was the incumbent. Byrd won statewide by 61.66 percent and she will face Libertarian Kiefer Perry in the November general election.
Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates received the following votes in Bryan County: John Cox, 788 votes, 22.23 percent; James Taylor, 766 votes, 21.61 percent; Robert Franklin, 701 votes, 19.77 percent; Toni Hasenbeck, 567 votes, 15.99 percent; Debra A. Herlihy, 331 votes, 9.34 percent; Adam Pugh, 324 votes, 9.14 percent, and William E. Crozier, 68 votes, 1.92 percent.
Statewide, Franklin received 22.60 percent and he will be in a runoff with Taylor, who received 19.68 percent of votes statewide.
In Bryan County, Democrat Superintendent of Public Instruction candidate Jennettie Marshall received 681 votes, 53 percent, compared to 604 votes, 47 percent, for Craig McVay. Statewide, Marshall received 57.69 percent of votes.
Republican commissioner of labor candidates received the following votes in Bryan County: Kevin West, 1,744 votes, 49.46 percent; John Pfeiffer, 912 votes, 28.45 percent; Lisa Janloo, 408 votes, 11.57 percent, and Keith Swinton, 371 votes, 10.52 percent.
Statewide, West received 41,78 percent and he will be a runoff with Pfeiffer, who received 35.27 percent of votes.
Republican insurance commissioner candidates received the following votes in Bryan County: Bob Sullivan, 1,250, votes, 35.60 percent; Marty L. Quinn, 944 votes, 26.89 percent; Chris Merideth, 711 votes, 20.25 percent, and Greta Shuler, 606 votes, 17.26 percent.
Statewide, Sullivan received 37.37 percent of votes and Quinn had 27.68 percent, so they will be in a runoff.
In Bryan County, Republican corporation commissioner candidates Brad Boles received 1,904 votes, 55.01 percent, compared to 1,557 votes, 44.99 percent, for Justin Hornback. Boles won statewide by 55.27 percent and he will face Democrat Rhonda Eastman in November.
For Democrat corporation commissioner, the following received votes in Bryan County: Rhonda Eastman, 820 votes, 64.92 percent; Harold D. Spradling, 341 votes, 27 percent, and Donald Anthony Clytus, 102 votes, 8.08 percent. Eastman won statewide by 70 percent, so there will be a faceoff between her and Boles in November.
Republican U.S. Senator candidates received the following votes in Bryan County: Kevin Hern, 2,093 votes, 58.78 percent; Gary Ty England, 515 votes, 14.46 percent; Sean Buckner, 500 votes, 14.04 percent; Brian Raigan, 259 votes, 7.27 percent, and Nick Hankins, 5.45 percent. Statewide, Hern received 69.76 percent of votes.
Democrat candidates for U.S. Senate received the following votes in Bryan County: N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas, 439 votes, 34.49 percent; Troy W. Green, 402 votes, 31.58 percent; Jim Priest, 292 votes, 22.94 percent; R.O. Joe Cassity Jr., 71 votes, 5.58 percent, and Ervin Stone Yen, 69 votes, 5.42 percent. Statewide, Thomas received 45.18 percent and she will be in a runoff with Priest who received 23.86 percent of votes.
U.S. District 02 Representative Republican Josh Brecheen defeated challenger Will Webb in Bryan County by 83.11 percent, 3,090 votes, compared to 628 votes, 16.89 percent, for Webb. District wide, Brecheen captured 79.20 percent of votes.
In Bryan County, Democrat candidate for U.S. District 02 representative Brandon Wade received 876 votes, 70.08 percent, compared to 374 votes, 29.92 percent, for Erik Terwey. District wide, Wade received 73.73 percent of votes.
State question No. 832, that would have raised the minimum wage, was shot down. In Bryan County, 3,486 ballots, 62.22 percent, were cast against it compared to 2,117 ballots, 37.78 percent in favor. Statewide, it was defeated by 55.38 percent.
Calera and Colbert voters approved propositions for Oklahoma Gas & Electric to have electricity rights for 25 years. In Calera, it passed by 76.06 percent, 216 votes, compared to 23.94 percent, 68 votes opposed. For Colbert, it was approved by 84.16 percent, 85 votes, compared to 16 votes, 15.84 percent opposed.
