Sandra was born on April 12, 1945, in Ballinger, Texas, to Carroll Lynn Mullins and Norma Erin (Reynolds) Mullins. The daughter of a cattle rancher and a schoolteacher, Sandra spent her childhood between ranches in Onion Top, Texas, and Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of four children and attended high school in Blackwell, Oklahoma, before her family later settled in Fort Worth, Texas.

A woman of remarkable determination, Sandra returned to school at the age of 50 to pursue a nursing degree while simultaneously helping raise her granddaughter. After earning her nursing credentials, she dedicated the next 29 years of her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse, retiring at the age of 79.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. Sandra read her Bible daily and found strength, comfort, and guidance in her relationship with the Lord throughout her years.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll Lynn Mullins and Norma Erin Mullins; and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lon Mullins and Edith Anne Mullins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Wayne Waldie and Martha Renee Waldie, and James Carroll Bennett and Susan Michelle Bennett; her daughter, Deborah Lynn Ragan; her grandchildren, Cody and Ashley Waldie, Kyle and Grace Waldie, Timothy McCarter, Kari and Brock Jones, Robert Hood, and Michael Thompson; her great-grandchildren, Devon Walton, Kaylan Nibblett, Taryn Nibblett, Tripp Jones, Paisley Waldie, Maverick Waldie, and Jameson Waldie; her sisters, Norma Gail Dominguez and husband Dee Dominguez, and Donna Beth Windsor; along with numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Sandra’s life was marked by faith, perseverance, compassion, and love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, and friend.
