Coming off a rough 46-0 loss to defending state champ Seiling, the Caddo Bruins will look to bounce back in a hurry with their final non-district contest on the road Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Snyder.
Miscues were magnified in the first defeat of the season that dropped Caddo to 3-1, but the Bruins were back at it this week in practice to correct those errors and try to build momentum heading into District B-4 play in Division I.
The Cyclones are not a completely unfamiliar foe to Caddo gridiron faithful as the Bruins toppled the western Oklahoma squad 36-26 in the opening round of the 2021 state playoffs.
Snyder sports just a 1-3 record but that has come against a brutally tough schedule that includes a 62-8 setback to the same Seiling team that Caddo faced. The Cyclones also dropped a 56-16 verdict to Class C top-ranked Tipton and fell 6-0 in a defensive slugfest last week at Cyril. Their lone win came 20-14 over Grandfield in Week 2.
While the youthful offense of Snyder has struggled to produce points with just 44 on the season, an experienced defense has shown bright spots, especially yielding only 20 total points in their last two outings.
Caddo junior quarterback Cale Wigington will look to get back on track after a tough outing against the Wildcats last week. He has thrown for 460 yards and nine touchdowns in addition to adding a team-leading 488 yards on the ground and 10 scores.
Fellow junior Boen Proctor has tallied 204 yards rushing and a touchdown while averaging seven yards per carry.
Senior Jake Green continues to lead the team in receiving with 15 catches for 271 yards and five scores. Jake McKay chips in five grabs for 118 yards and one touchdown.
Jake Mullens is the defensive catalyst with 22 tackles along with 17 apiece from Noah Dry, McKay and Bayler Black.
