Caddo advanced to its sixth consecutive Class A fastpitch state tournament with a three-game regional tournament sweep last week.
The Lady Bruins, who have won the last four Class A titles, embark on the quest for a five-peat after turning back Porum, 4-2 and 5-1, in the final two regional contests.
Silo remained alive in the Class 3A fastpitch playoffs, sweeping Lincoln Christian in the regional round to move into this week’s super regionals.
Calera’s Lady Bulldogs saw their season end with a pair of losses at Oktaha in the best-ofthree regional tournament.
Caddo Regional
The Lady Bruins raced past Allen, 12-0, in the regional opener before a couple of close matchups against Porum.
Brylee Daniel fired a two-hit shutout in the Allen contest and also had a massive game at the plate with four hits, including a pair of doubles and a triple, to drive in six of the club’s 12 runs. Braylee Malone chipped in a hit, scored three times and knocked in two.
Harlee Taylor got the call in the pitching circle in the Porum first meeting and scattered nine hits over seven strong innings. She fanned three and walked none.
Daniel pumped in three of the team’s six runs and also tallied two RBI. Brilee Tyson chipped in a triple as part of her two hits in the contest.
Caddo spotted Porum a 1-0 edge in the title game but rallied to take the lead for good with four runs in the third stanza.
Taylor worked all seven innings in the pitching circle once again, allowing just the one unearned run on six hits.
Gage Vaughn was big at the plate with a double and triple as well as scoring twice. Daniel, Presley Beck and Laynie Busby all had one hit and one RBI.
Silo Regional
Silo scored the game’s final five runs to break open a tight contest in a 7-2 opening victory against Lincoln Christian.
Kostina Tubby tossed a five-hit complete game, allowing just one earned run and struck out seven.
The Lady Rebels piled up 12 hits spurred by two apiece from Kamrey Hendricks, Trinity Ford, Connie Tubby and Dylan Paddock. Maddix Sander added a triple and drove in two.
In the finale, Silo scored in every inning and cruised to the run rule decision with another 10 hits.
Tubby twirled the first three stanzas and Brylee Smothers the final two frames as they combined to yield just three hits and struck out three.
Sander posted two hits and knocked in three runs. Neely House also had two hits, including a home run, with Jayci Webb posting two more hits.
Calera Regional
Runs were tough to come by for the Lady Bulldogs as they managed just one in each contest while falling to the hosts 3-1 and 9-1.
Auhnesty Maytubby pitched extremely well in the first contest, yielding only one earned run on three hits with a pair of strikeouts in six innings but was the tough luck losing hurler.
Calera’s only run came in the third inning as Taryn Niblett singled and scored on a Makenna Owens double but that was all they could push across the plate despite outhitting Oktaha by a 6-3 margin. Maytubby had two of the hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
Oktaha scored twice in the third frame of game two and then six in the fourth to break it wide open.
The Lady Bulldogs plated their lone run in the fourth as well keyed by Maytubby and Kaira Beller singles ahead of a Jaedyn Umsted sacrifice fly. Emilee Summit and Aaliyah Wesley also contributed hits.
