With Class 5A Regional action coming up this weekend at Owasso, the Durant cross country teams closed out the regular season with solid performances at the Wright City Invitational last week.
The Lady Lions were paced by a fifth place individual performance from Judi Free, who maneuvered the 3,200-meter course in 13 minutes, 39 seconds.
Katelyn Mauck checked in 17th at 14:05, Katelyn Hitchcock scored a 21st place effort of 14:28, Rozlyn Brumley clocked in at 14:53 for 24th, Caitlyn Ortega was 28th at 15:19, Kennedy Ervin placed 53rd in 21:04 with Abigail Hixon taking 55th at 21:37.
On the high school boys’ side, Blake Davis was the top DHS finisher on the 5K course with a time of 19 minutes, 20 seconds.
Cameron Mauck took 22nd in 20:06, Blake Rhynes was 27th at 20:39.73, Isaiah Hall took 32nd with a mark of 21:22.92, Kyric Lehrling checked in 35th in 21:40.66 and Jared Osorio was 40th at 22:20.69.
Other Durant High boys placers were Jacoby Briggle, 53rd (23:50.63); Kyndall Arnold, 56th (24:02.78); Kolson Gordon, 57th (24:25); Ethan Garcia, 60th (24:39.24); Kevin Vazquez, 62nd (24:45.6); Ivan Becerra, 63rd (24:55.69); Kason Ford, 65th (25:56.5); Ethan Diaz, 72nd (29:40); Steven Solona, 73rd (30:02); and Abraham Reyna, 75th (30:10).
The Lady Lion junior high runners dominated their division with six Top 10 finishes on the 2,400-meter course.
Elizabeth Hitchcock led the charge with third place overall in 10 minutes, 44 seconds. Vivian Lee was fourth at 11:07, Archer Brumley ended fifth in 11:16, Aubri Hixon was sixth at 11:21, Selena Osorio finished eighth with a time of 11:25 and Kenlee Petty checked in 10th at 11:32.
Other junior high Durant girls placers included Baylee Sullivan, 11th (11:35); Olivia Keeling, 17th (12:14); Aubrey Perrin, 19th (13:02); Julia Rhynes, 22nd (13:23); Darely Gonzalez, 27th (14:28); Jaydee Seals, 28th (14:31); and Abigail Gardner, 32nd (15:13).
Jude Scott had a strong effort for the Lion junior high while taking second individually on the 3,200-meter course in 11 minutes, 47 seconds.
Noah Brumley captured fifth in 12:17, Logan Wyrick was seventh with a 12:21 as Pate Wall contributed a time of 13:35.46 for 16th.
Other junior high boys finishers were D.J. Donaldson, 20th (14:30); Cole Parker, 23rd (14:54); Jacoby Curiel, 24th (15:16); Collin Palmer, 25th (15:17); and Alejandro Reyna, 31st (19:04).
