With their first chance of the season for home dual action, the Durant Lady Lions made the most of their chances in notching an 18-12 win over visiting Madill to wrap up the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule.

Three straight wins to open things was just what Durant was looking for as Chloe Marlow started things at 145 pounds in building quick 7-0 lead with a takedown and pair of near falls. She then finished off Kadence Bourland with a pin fall just 18.8 seconds from the end of the first period.

Back to 110 pounds, Durant senior standout Addison Polk upped her record to 6-0 on the season in convincing fashion with a takedown and fall triumph in just 68 seconds against Madill’s Andie Wallace.

Loryn Lopez followed with a fall victory at 115 pounds as well, sprinting to a 7-1 scoring lead before dropping Jadyn Butts at the 36-second mark of the opening period.

Madill answered with a couple of pins of its own with Nobalee Jessell stopping Durant’s Olivia Frazer with 40.8 seconds left in the first period at 120 pounds. Kaia Henry then dispatched the Lady Lions’ Marianna Ramirez with another opening stanza fall at 140 pounds.

In exhibition action at 155 pounds, Cedar Derby scored a first period pin fall in just 32 seconds for Durant. Alexa Hall then lost a fall verdict in the opening frame of another exhibition at 105 pounds.

The Lady Lions will have two big competitions coming up with the first-ever Ardmore Invitational Tournament on December 29-30 before the prestigious Supergirl 64 event at Tulsa Union on January 5-6.
