Durant’s Lady Lion soccer team finished the season with a 3-1 road victory at Elgin last week but came up short of making the playoffs on a district tiebreaker after losses to Duncan and Noble.

Coach Katie Williams’ club wrapped up the 2024 campaign with a 7-7 overall record.

In the Elgin victory, Karah Boydstun accumulated two goals and one assist on seven shot attempts on goal to lead the Durant charge.

J.J. Patten picked up the other Lady Lion goal on five shots as Aubrey Tomlinson and Lily Ruiz had three shots on goal apiece from the DHS back line. Katelyn Mauck, Addison Polk, Katelyn Ortiz and Kylie Fox all had one shot on goal.

Alex Martinez notched an assist and had a shot on goal as well as contributing 12 saves as the goalkeeper.

In the 4-0 loss to Noble, the Lady Lions played a very defensive game, holding the Lady Bears to just one goal despite playing a bit shorthanded due to illness and injury.

Martinez posted 13 saves with Boydstun pacing the offensive attack with four shots on goal for the game.

Playing on shorter rest than normal, Durant got off to a slow start against Duncan and could never find the back of the net.

Tomlinson had four shots on goal, Boydstun registered three with Ortiz, Mauck and Hailey Ogilby all adding a pair. Patten and Ruiz notched one shot on goal apiece.

Martinez ended the contest with eight saves.

Boydstun concluded a tremendous career with 88 goals scored and 29 assists for the Lady Lions. Ortiz contributed 33 goals and 26 assists and Tomlinson notched 18 goals and 13 assists in their DHS careers as well.
