Nichols MVP in County All-League softball picks

Caddo senior standout Jaycie Nichols was selected Bryan County Conference Most Valuable Player to lead another strong contingent of Lady Bruins on the postseason list chosen by league coaches.

Nichols wrapped up a stellar final season by batting .596 in helping lead the Lady Bruins to a fourth straight slow pitch state championship to go along with four fast pitch titles as well.

She posted seven doubles, five triples, 12 homers, drove in 46 and scored 67 runs and just for good measure also won a second straight Class A track and field state championship in the long jump by eclipsing 18 feet, 1 inch.

Other All Conference selections from Caddo included her sister Jordyn as well as Presley Beck. Also joining that prestigious unit were Colbert’s Tally Rowland, the Calera duo of Taylynn Condor and Taibree Melton, Rock Creek’s Laynie Knight and Macey Weger as well as Chanci Alford and Callie Boren of Tushka and Achille’s Gracie Holt.

There was also a host of All Star selections from throughout the county as well with a trio of Colbert Lady Leopards in Abby Sanders, Anna Bowler and Lauren Polston, Brylee Daniel from Caddo, Tori Allmon and Kaira Beller of Calera, Rock Creek’s Emma Gann and Brittany Greenhaw, Kylee Webb and Kylie Lee from Tushka as well as the Achille trio of Lila Barnes, Trinity Barnes and Elena Avila.
