Fresh off a gridiron campaign in which they posted their best regular season finish since a 2011 state championship season, the Caddo Bruins took home a plethora of top awards in All-District voting of league coaches.
The Bruins, who posted a 10-2 overall record and claimed district runner-up honors, had the overall league Most Valuable Player as well as the defensive MVP. Six other Caddo players were also First Team selections.
Senior Cale Wigington snagged the District MVP award with a stellar campaign in which he accounted for more than 2,700 yards of offense and 42 total touchdowns while rarely seeing action after halftime.
Wigington completed 78 of 100 pass attempts (78 percent) with only a pair of interceptions and 15 touchdowns for a total of 1,305 yards. Meanwhile on the ground, his versatility showed in rushing 112 times for 1,441 yards (12.9 per carry) and 27 scores.
Senior Noah Dry was the stalwart on a Caddo defense which tossed six shutouts and yielded a total of 100 points in 10 regular season contests.
The linebacker logged 175 tackles, including 28 for loss and six quarterback sacks. In his spare time he also rushed eight times for 77 yards (averaging 9.6 yards per carry) on offense and also caught three passes for 49 yards, a 16.3 average per catch.
Defensive lineman Teryn Spicer, offensive lineman Dillon Speers, wide receiver Jake McKay, running back Baylor Black, linebacker Jase Counce and defensive back Noah Carvell were the first team honorees.
Spicer tallied 86 tackles, including 12 behind the line of scrimmage while Speers chipped in 79 stops, 17 of which were for loss as well as two sacks in addition to paving the way for the stellar offensive production.
McKay was named All-District for the second straight year, leading the Bruins with 42 receptions for 793 yards (18.9 yards per catch) and 11 touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 51 yards (8.5 yards per carry) and added 143 tackles on defense along with six interceptions.
Black was a key cog in the backfield while accounting for more than 1,100 total yards. He racked up 983 yards on 107 carries (9.2 per attempt) with 19 touchdowns and as well as catching 20 passes for 160 yards and another score. His 153 tackles was also second on the squad.
Counce stepped into a big role on the defensive side and flourished with 123 tackles, including 27 for loss and five quarterback sacks.
Carvell accumulated 44 tackles and was second on the team with five interceptions in the secondary. He also posted 201 rushing yards on 15 carries with three scores, adding 58 yards on three receptions.
Caddo had one second team honoree in defensive back Blaydn Brown, who finished with 70 tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
