The Silo softball season culminated with a 10th straight trip to the state tournament and in the process brought a host of postseason honors with nine Lady Rebels earning All-District recognition.
Junior infielder Kamrey Hendricks was tabbed as the 3A-8 Co-Player of the Year after posting a team-leading .462 average with seven doubles, 29 runs batted in and 33 runs scored. She was also stellar defensively with a .954 fielding percentage at second base.
Kostina Tubby took home Pitcher of the Year honors, notching a 24-5 record in the circle with 154 1/3 innings tossed. The junior allowed 107 hits, struck out 118 and walked 47 and wrapped up with a 1.72 earned run average.
Senior Connie Tubby was the league’s Offensive Most Valuable Player as the top run producer for the district champs. She tallied a .424 average at the plate with 12 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 41 driven in and 35 runs scored.
Sophomore catcher Paislee Johnson earned Defensive Most Valuable Player recognition as a reliable backstop for the second year in a row. She committed only two errors in 183 chances for a stellar .989 fielding percentage. Johnson also chipped in a .382 batting average that included eight doubles, one triple and 13 RBI.
All-District honorees for the Lady Rebels also included seniors Dylan Paddock and Paetyn Garrett.
Paddock hit .294 while manning center field most of the season. She added four doubles, 12 batted in and 16 runs scored. Garrett meanwhile notched a .333 average offensively with four doubles, 31 RBI and 32 runs scored.
Honorable Mention selections from Silo were juniors Trinity Ford and Neely House along with sophomore Maddix Sander.
Ford posted a .336 batting average that included five doubles, two triples, three homers, 24 batted in and 37 runs scored along with a team-best 16 stolen bases.
House hit at a .365 clip for the season while providing 12 doubles, a triple, one homer, 30 driven home and 38 runs scored.
Sander emerged as the club’s third-leading hitter for the season with a .393 average as she contributed 13 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 32 RBI and 40 runs scored in her first season as a full-time starter.
