Junior Avery Sager continued her assault on the Durant cross country record book, shattering her own school record with an official time of 19 minutes, 15.47 seconds to win the Class 5A Public School Invitational.
Sager had been clocked at 19:13.68 unofficially in the meet but still ran away with the individual crown while leading the Lady Lions to an eighth place team finish.
Laynee Emert added a 17th place mark of 21:39.18 and garnered second team All Class 5A honors.
There was a host of personal records that fell as Kamryn Brooks claimed 48th with a time of 23:52.88, Kyah French took 52nd in 24:03.90, Grace Morrison checked in 55th at 24:14.30, Alexi Powell picked up 59th with a mark of 24:33.60 and Rozlyn Brumley posted a time of 25:41.22 for 68th. Katelyn Mauck rounded out the Durant finishers with 74th by clocking in at 26:27.61.
Durant’s boys notched a team finish of 11th in the 13-team field spurred by K.J. Lowery with a 22nd place effort of 17:51.11.
Chris Becerra pitched in a 44th place personal best time of 18:43.26 and Zach Ervin was 50th in 18:53.86. Six straight DHS finishers carded personal best marks as well with Hudson Phillips taking 80th in 20:16.68, Kyric Lehrling was 91st at 20:45.67, Cameron Mauck added a 93rd in 20:49.42, Isaiah Hall captured 94th with a time of 20:54.01, Blake Rhynes ended 98th at 21:03.55 with Jared Osorio capturing 112th in 21:53.46.
Kason Ford rounded out things for the Lions with a time of 22:27.13 to end at 113th.
