Avery Sager broke the school record in the 3,200 meters for the second week in a row and Skyla Cox claimed the 100-meter hurdles championship to highlight Durant finishes in the power-packed Plainview Track Invitational on Friday.
Sager notched a time of 12 minutes, 1.64 seconds to eclipse her own record and personal best time as well as posting a fifth place mark of 5:43.45 in the 1,600 meters. Cox meanwhile checked in with a time of 17.03 seconds for top spot in her event.
Also for the Lady Lions, Kayla Cox was a third-place medalist in the 200 meters in 26.49 seconds while adding a fourth in the 100 meters at 13.04.
For the Durant boys, K.J. Lowery ran a personal best 1:57.80 to take runner-up honors in the 800 meters. Rylan Avery posted a personal best of his own in clocking in at 40.89 in the 300 hurdles as well as chipping in a fourth in the 200 meters at 22.95 seconds.
The Lions had a trio of relay placers led by the 800 relay unit of Jaythun Edmundson, Boston Browder, Avery and Aiden Polk that finished fourth in 1:32.11.
Lowery teamed with Zachary Ervin, Hudson Phillips and Kason Ford to also notch a fourth at 8:30.94 in the 3,200 relay.
The 1,600 relay grouping of Edmundson, Avery, Browder and Lowery also finished fifth with a time of 3:30.87.
