Silo, Caddo and Calera compete in early festival

Caddo and Silo each posted 3-1 records while Calera went 2-2 in the Rattan Spring Break Festival last week.

Defending 4A state champ Silo rolled to a 14-3 win over Stratford, 13-6 against Tushka and 15-3 facing Roff with its only loss coming at the hands of the host Rams, 10-7.

Defending 3A champ Caddo was a 14-2 victor versus Quinton as well as 10-5 over Cyril with a 7-6 loss to Tushka.

Calera, meanwhile, recorded identical 10-5 triumphs over Quinton and Soper along with a 10-9 defeat at the hands of Wister.

Silo Softball

Junior Connie Tubby blasted five home runs and three doubles to fuel the Lady Rebel offensive charge in the earlyseason event.

Silo led from the start against Stratford, also picking up roundtrippers from Neely House and Timber Hensley. Tubby then smacked three homers and drove in seven to lead the charge in the win against perennial power Tushka. Kostina Tubby and Trinity Ford homered with House, Paetyn Garrett, Bree Ginn and Kamrey Henricks also chipping in two hits apiece.

They followed with the blitzing of Roff with Garrett notching four hits to lead the charge. Connie Tubby and Ford added two each.

In the loss to Rattan, Silo ended with an edge in hits but couldn’t pull out the victory thanks to a six-run fourth by the Rams.

Ginn and Connie Tubby homered while Garrett, Hendricks and Paislee Johnson all contributed two hits.

Caddo Softball

The Lady Bruins powered up 18 hits in only four innings to throttle Quinton. Jaycie Nichols fueled the assault with three hits and three runs batted in while Anna Adair also tallied three hits. Jordyn Nichols and Brylee Daniel tossed in two hits and two RBI apiece.

In the Tushka defeat, a late Caddo rally came up short despite a big offensive effort from Rylan Peevyhouse, who ended with a double, triple and four runs batted in. Jaycie and Jordyn Nichols both contributed two hits as did Kayden Cowan and Kayden Prince.

Caddo utilized a strong showing from Presley Beck, who homered and drove in four runs, to zip by a strong Cyril squad.

Peevyhouse provided three hits while Jaycie Nichols, Jordyn Nichols, Daniel, Beck and Cowan all finished with two.

Calera Softball

While the Lady Bulldogs ended up with the same number of hits against Quinton, Calera made the most of its production in timely situations that included a sevenrun third stanza that gave them the lead for good.

Makenna Owens tallied three hits while Auhnesty Maytubby and Laynie Paddock chipped in two apiece. Taryn Niblett also drove in three.

Facing Soper, Calera erupted for eight runs in its final three at bats to pull away for the win. Taylynn Conder was money at the plate, posting a home run and two doubles along with four runs batted in.

Tori Allmon also pitched in three hits and drove in two runs with Beller ending with a pair of hits as well.

The Lady Bulldogs erased all of a 9-2 deficit with seven tallies in the fifth inning, but Wister got the game winner in the sixth to take the victory.

Conder homered again as part of her two hits and three driven in. Aaliyah Wesley also had two hits and three RBI for the Lady Bulldogs.
