Silo girls notched their second victory in a week over Hugo while the Rebels fell to the perennial powers on the boys side in Class 3A district championship action last week.

The Lady Rebels scored a 58-51 triumph over the visitors to improve to 1511 on the season while the Silo boys were on the short end of a 68-47 count.

Girls

Three Lady Rebels hit double figures offensively in a near carbon copy victory after beating Hugo, 56-50, just a week earlier.

The Lady Buffaloes were in fact in front for nearly a quarter and a half, taking a 15-11 edge after one stanza before Silo put together a big second frame for a 26-23 advantage.

Silo pushed the margin to 42-34 at the end of three frames and they rolled the rest of the way, hitting three treys in the final period.

Kynleigh Pierce pumped in 13 points to lead the Lady Rebel charge with Ryleigh Pierce and Avery Beauchamp contributing 11 apiece. Makayla Clark added six points, Cache Atwood checked in with five and Kostina Tubby added four points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Olivia Clark pitched in three with Harlie Gardner and Connie Tubby scoring two apiece and Jayci Webb one.

Boys

Hugo sizzled the nets for a season-high 13 three pointers and Silo was unable to offset the perimeter barrage.

The Rebels trailed 17-10 at the end of one quarter, 34-17 at halftime and 48-32 through three periods.

Hayden Roberts provided a huge 12-point fourth quarter to finish the game with a team-best 18 points. Charlie Gardner also hit double digits, ending with 11.

Daxter Thomas and Sam Mendenall had five apiece for the Rebels with Zane Sander scoring three, Barett Snapp and Jory Allen each hit for two points and Mikel Butler one.
