Leave it to a senior to provide the walk off heroics against an arch rival on Senior Day.

Cameron Cromer did just that on Saturday for Southeastern as his final hit for the Savage Storm was a seventh inning solo home run over the right field wall that gave the hosts a 3-2 win over East Central.

The Tigers had earlier evened the series with an 8-7 triumph after Southeastern blasted its way to a 18-1 drubbing in Friday’s opener.

Southeastern was in comeback mode throughout the season finale after spotting the Tigers a 2-0 edge in the second stanza. They got one run back in the third frame on a Cache Stone RBI single and knotted the score one inning later with a Cory Bonstrom solo homer.

Jackson Sioson allowed two unearned runs and five hits over four and one-third innings but didn’t figure in the pitching decision. Brett Tanksley finished the game from there for the victory by retiring the final eight batters he faced, including two via strikeout.

Offense was much more plentiful in the first contest as Southeastern finished with a 13-12 edge in hits but fell one run short when East Central broke a tie in the ninth inning.

Wesley Mitchell and Coby Grimsley each posted three hits to fuel the Savage Storm offensively. Stone and John David Muse also chipped in a pair of hits apiece.

The Friday game saw Southeastern erupt for its second highest scoring output of the entire season as they scored early and often in the rout.

A seven-run second inning got things rolling in the right direction with a Reid Rice grand slam being the biggest blow. They added five more tallies in the third frame with two more coming on a Rice double.

Southeastern plated another run in the fourth and five additional in the fifth stanza while never looking back.

Cameron Hauch tossed five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and struck out three for the pitching win.

Rice had a monster effort in his Senior Day series opener, driving in seven on three hits. Matt Miles pitched in three hits and three RBI with Mitchell also contributing a pair of hits.
