Caddo graduates receive Engles Memorial Scholarships

Anna Adair and Jaryn Little, both 2025 Caddo High School graduates, have been selected as this year’s recipients of the Anita Jeanette Engles Memorial Scholarship. Adair will be attending University of Oklahoma and Little will be attending Oklahoma State University in the fall.

Last week, State Senator David Bullard, the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office and the family of Deputy Michael Dee Pace gathered to unveil the signs officially dedicating the bridge over Choctaw Road on U.S. Highway 69/75 as the Deputy Michael Dee Pace Memorial Bridge.

Five Durant High School seniors are enlisting in the military and there was a signing day at the high school last week. Jillian Feltman and Alondra Gamero have signed with the Army National Guard.

Silo bond proposition fails

A bond for Silo Schools received 50.74 percent of the vote but fell short of the 60 percent super majority required for school bond propositions. According to the Oklahoma Election Board, there were 818 votes in favor and 794 opposed in the May 13 election.
