Kiwanis final Student of the Month was Durant High School senior Mitchell Palmer. Palmer has earned a 4.0 GPA and thus was named to the Oklahoma National Honor Society, the National Society, and the Choctaw Nation Youth Advisory Board.

Local students win ODOT poster contest

Andrea Ramos, an eighth-grader at Colbert Middle School, took second place in the sixth-through eighth-grade division of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s annual Trash Poster Contest.
