Last December, the Caddo Civic and Cemetery Club announced its intention to undertake restoration actions for older monuments that were leaning or possibly becoming unstable. They are now pleased to announce that this initial restoration project has been successfully accomplished.

April 11 The Owen Foundation Blazing Fun Run & 5K for Autism Awareness and Inclusion will be on Saturday, April 11 on Evergreen Street in downtown Durant. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.

Peanut butter collected for Hands of Hope

Several entities joined forces to collect jars of peanut butter that were donated last week to the Hands of Hope food bank. Tracy Trotter, marketing manager, AllianceHealth - Durant, said this was the fourth year for the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive.

Oklahoma Youth Expo is largest junior livestock show in the world

The Oklahoma Youth Expo was held March 8-20 at the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. This is billed as the largest junior livestock show in the world. It brings more than 7,500 4-H and FFA exhibitors from all 77 counties to compete at the state championship for the Junior Livestock Program.
