Bryan County Free Fair approaches

The Bryan County Free Fair is scheduled for September 3-7. With the fair being only a few weeks away, it’s time to start getting your canning, quilts, crafts, and chickens ready for the county fair. This is a traditional county event that the entire family can participate in.

Pride of Durant preparing for upcoming season

The Pride of Durant High School band finished its band camp last week and head band director Chris Gregg was honored for recently being inducted into the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame.

Methodist Vacation Bible School raises funds for Feeding Hope

The recent Vacation Bible School by Durant First United Methodist Church raised funds for Feeding Hope and a check was presented to the organization last week. Mardi Dunn, Children’s Ministry Director at Durant UMC, said the children raised more than $250 which was matched for a total of $500.
