Choctaw Nation celebrates National Women’s History Month

March was National Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of women throughout history. That month, the Choctaw Nation paid tribute to the influential role of Choctaw women in shaping their communities and preserving their cultural heritage.

DEAR PAW’S CORNER: After my aunt passed away, I gladly agreed to take in her dog, “Hunter,” a rather squat, obese Beagle. He’s a happy old dog of about 9 years, but my aunt gave him little to no training other than housetraining.

Lady Lions post soccer shutout victories

The Durant Lady Lions posted a pair of shutout victories and Lions split games in soccer action last week at Paul Laird Field. Coach Katie Williams’ Lady Lions cruised past Madill, 8-0, and then notched a tight 1-0 triumph over McAlester in the District 5A-1 opener.

Southeastern hosts Second Annual McCurtain County Prospective Teacher Academy

IDABEL–TheSoutheastern Oklahoma State University department of teacher education hosted the Second Annual Prospective Teacher Academy at its McCurtain County campus recently. More than 50 prospective teaching students attended the event, marking noted growth from the inaugural event.
