Kiwanis to hold Community Prayer Breakfast

The Kiwanis Club of Durant’s 43rd annual Durant Community Prayer Breakfast will be at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Building, 305 W. Montgomery Drive on the Southeastern campus north of the baseball field.

City council moving forward with plans for animal shelter

Durant City Council is moving ahead with plans for a new animal shelter and they have received donations from the public. During a recent meeting, council members approved a plan for architecture and engineering from Theorem LLC in the amount of $144,664.07.

Men complete Fathers in Action Network program

There was a graduation ceremony April 12 for men who completed the Fathers in Action Network program by Youth Services of Bryan County. It is a fatherhood group through Youth Services of Bryan County and it’s a brand-new program being offered in the county.
