Voters shot down a onecent sales tax proposition for Bryan County EMS in a special election March 4. According to election results released by the Oklahoma Election Board, the proposition was defeated 77.89 percent with 1,916 voters opposed.

Firefighters respond to shed fire, gas spill

Durant firefighters hosed down a shed fire early Tuesday morning on North 10th Avenue behind a doughnut shop. Firefighters were dispatched at 12:13 and upon arrival, they observed a wooden fence and small shed on fire, according to a DFD report.
