The Durant Police Department took children shopping for Christmas during its annual Shop with a Cop event Dec. 19 at Walmart.

Three longtime county officials set to retire

Three officials who have spent many years serving Bryan County are retiring and retirement receptions were held for them recently. Bryan County Court Clerk Donna Alexander has served with the court clerk’s office for 39 years and a reception was held for her Dec.

New high school ag building to open next semester

Construction of the new Durant High School agriculture education building is wrapping up and it is expected to be ready for use early next semester, according to a report presented by Mid-Plains Construction at a recent Durant Board of Education meeting.
