J127 Ministry, an organization that assists young women transitioning out of foster care, had a ribbon cutting recently from the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce. J127 opened in May 2020 at 717 N.

Southeastern Disc Golf Club earns Division 2 championship at Oklahoma Collegiate Showdown

McALESTER – The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Disc Golf Club claimed its third championship in two years, taking the Division 2 crown at the Oklahoma Collegiate Showdown, held at Buffalo Run Disc Golf Course.

Choctaw Cultural Center wins two state awards

The Choctaw Cultural Center came home with two honors from the Oklahoma Museum Association’s 2024 Conference. This is the first time the three-yearold tribal facility has received awards from the state organization.

Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcyclist died from injuries in an accident Monday afternoon at Highway 48 and Windsor Drive about 1,000 feet north of Durant city limits, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Forty-one-year-old Russel Reno of Durant was taken to AllianceHealth after the 1:55 p.m.
