Nacho luncheon raises funds for RSVP

A recent nacho luncheon at the Clay Jones Community Building raised $2,100 for the Bryan County Retired Senior Volunteer (RSVP) program.

After rumors circulating on social media about turning Market Square in downtown Durant into a park and removing parking, the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce organized a meeting on Monday at the Gordon Center with city offi cials and business owners to address those concerns.

Durant Main Street’s Art and Wine Festival was Saturday on North Third Avenue in downtown Durant, and it included many activities and vendors. Main Street Executive Director Stephanie Swicker said the event included local wineries, artists and live music.
