After rumors circulating on social media about turning Market Square in downtown Durant into a park and removing parking, the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce organized a meeting on Monday at the Gordon Center with city offi cials and business owners to address those concerns.

Durant Main Street’s Art and Wine Festival was Saturday on North Third Avenue in downtown Durant, and it included many activities and vendors. Main Street Executive Director Stephanie Swicker said the event included local wineries, artists and live music.

Caddo has found its new head football coach and didn’t have to look very far. Former Madill head coach and Southeastern offensive coordinator Chad Speer will be the new Bruin leader when spring practice begins, replacing former coach Jeff Wigington who resigned to pursue other endeavors.
