Work Ready Durant celebrated its grand opening last week that included a ribbon cutting from the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce. Earlier this year, Youth Services of Bryan County announced a groundbreaking workforce development system with an investment of $6.1 million over five years.

McALESTER – The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Disc Golf Club claimed its third championship in two years, taking the Division 2 crown at the Oklahoma Collegiate Showdown, held at Buffalo Run Disc Golf Course.

Choctaw Cultural Center wins two state awards

The Choctaw Cultural Center came home with two honors from the Oklahoma Museum Association’s 2024 Conference. This is the first time the three-yearold tribal facility has received awards from the state organization.

Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcyclist died from injuries in an accident Monday afternoon at Highway 48 and Windsor Drive about 1,000 feet north of Durant city limits, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Forty-one-year-old Russel Reno of Durant was taken to AllianceHealth after the 1:55 p.m.
