Patsy (Pat) Martin
Patsy (Pat) Martin passed away after a short illness & complications from Myasthenia Gravis. She was born into a family with five siblings in Broken Bow, OK.
After graduating from Broken Bow High School, she pursued a degree in early Elementary Education, at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. There she met and married her beloved husband of 57 years, Troy Martin. From Durant, the couple moved to Houston, TX where she taught for almost 10 years. They started their family before returning to Oklahoma. In Oklahoma City, Pat taught for 35 years in the Putnam City School District, before retiring in 2004.
After retiring, they moved near Madill, OK, where Pat was able to find a quieter lifestyle gardening, birdwatching, & caring for her pets. She was also an avid fan of OU football and OKC Thunder.
She leaves behind her husband, Troy Martin of Madill, OK, daughter Becky Thornburg & husband Clint of San Antonio, TX. Daughter Chrissy Martin & companion Jerry Carver of Oklahoma City. She also leaves behind five grandchildren including Kathryn Henshaw & husband James of Gentry, Arkansas, Alexander Thornburg & wife Samantha of San Antonio, Texas, Zachary Thornburg & wife Sarah of Devine, Texas, Susanna Thornburg & Elijah Thornburg both of San Antonio, Texas, as well as four great-grandchildren Charlotte, Adeline, Matthew & Theodore Henshaw, all of Gentry, Arkansas. She is also survived by sisters Glenda Harkey of Broken Bow, OK, Angie Dlugonski of Ada, OK, brothers Wilburn Bean of Poteau, OK, and Charles Bean of Laramie, WY, sister-in-law Mary Jane Jameson of Brownfield, TX, their families, & countless cousins, nieces, & nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. & Lula Mae (Whisenhunt) Bean, brother Troy Gene Bean & sister Linda Bean.
