Dr. Charles “Roy” Combrink

BURLESON - Dr. Charles “Roy” Combrink, 85, passed away on September 1, 2024, with his family by his side.

Memorial Service: 12 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel at 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107.

Roy was born on April 5, 1939 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to Ernestine and Wilbur Combrink. He was a great dad and an amazing grandpa. Roy earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Kansas. He taught mathematics at Texas Christian University from 1966 until he retired in 2004. He was also active in the Fort Worth Genealogical Society and the Fort Worth Citizens on Patrol.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Linda Hale Combrink; brother, Dale Combrink; and brother-in-law, Howard Thomas.

He is survived by sons, Keith Combrink and his wife, Olivia of Navasota, TX and Kevin Combrink and his wife, Beatrix of Burleson; grandchildren, Anna Combrink Chianese of Fort Worth, Noah Combrink and his wife, Marie of Burleson, Jason Combrink of Fort Worth and Rebeka Combrink of Burleson; greatgrandson, Oliver Chianese of Fort Worth; sister, Carolyn Thomas of Fort Towson, OK; brothers, Jerry Combrink and his wife, Linda of Durant, OK, Fred Combrink of Duncan, OK and Gary Combrink and his wife, Lindajo of Spring Creek, NV; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
