Texoma Board of Realtors receives grant to help Durant Main Street

The Texoma Board of REALTORS will use a $15,000 Smart Growth Grant from the National Association of Realtors to demonstrate the placemaking and economic development potential of Durant Main Street.

“Realtors are dedicated to building better communities and enhancing the quality of life in Texoma,” said Christy Cromer, Association Executive for the Texoma Board of REALTORS. “This grant will raise awareness about the value of investing in Durant’s Historic Main Street District. In partnership with Durant Main Street, we’re excited to launch the Gift & Gather Market, a pop-up shop showcasing local entrepreneurs, from November 30th to December 21st.

“Kick off the season on November 30th with the annual Shop Small event, and visit the market at 314 W Main St. for unique gifts, delicious food, and live music. The market will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with extended hours on December 6th and 7th until 9 p.m. Bring your friends and family to discover local treasures and enjoy the festive atmosphere of our historic downtown.

“The 300 block of Main Street will be transformed into a safe and vibrant destination with the help of Team Better Block, international experts in downtown revitalization. Through the Smart Growth Grant program, Realtors are fostering collaboration to inspire greater public and private investment in creating a thriving downtown.”

Cromer invites the public to join in this celebration on November 30th to celebrate this exciting project and the bright future of downtown Durant.
