Orvil A. (Johnny) Sweeney

Orvil A. (Johnny) Sweeney was born March 9, 1927, in Kemp, OK and passed away on December 13, 2024, in Monroe, LA, at the age of 97. Johnny lived majority of his life in Durant, OK and was involved in many activities including the Masonic Lodge, Schriner’s Club, Elks Lodge and several Golf Associations in and around the area. 

Johnny married the Love of his life, Alva Dean Sweeney on January 19, 1945, and was happily married for 74 years. 

Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Orvil (Johnny) Sweeney will be Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1:00PM. Services will be held in the Chapel at the First Baptist Church in Durant, OK with Pastor Garry McNeill officiating.
