Martha Lou Marshall Easter

Martha Lou Marshall Easter passed away from this life on April 16, 2025 at the age of 100 at her home in Bokchito. 

She was born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 to Joe & Pearl (Anderson) Marshall on Impson Prairie, Northeast of Bokchito, OK. where she attended school through the eighth grade & graduated from Bokchito High School. She met Bob Easter as a young girl. They married June 16, 1944, in Atoka, OK. prior to his service in WWII. They were married for 77 years. 

Lou worked in the family business for 15 years and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. She taught school for 23 years and belonged to the Bokchito Order of the Eastern Star for 60 plus years, serving as Worthy Matron several times. She was a board member & volunteer for the Bokchito Civic Cemetery for 25 years and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She & husband Bob operated a storage facility for 40 years and continued to operate her parents’ farm and ranch, where she was born and raised. 

Preceded in death by husband Bob Easter, parents Joe & Pearl Marshall, Sister Josephine Prostsman & husband Bill, brother John Marshall & wife Evadna. 

Survived by son Bob (Jim) Easter & wife Karen, Fort Worth, TX., daughter Dena Easter McIntire & husband Gary, Bokchito, OK., daughter Lou Ann Easter Chumbley, Oklahoma City, OK; 7 Grandchildren: Holly Fitzgerald & husband Joey, Minco, OK., Mark Easter & wife Sandra, Garland, TX., Kelly Allender & husband Tony, Houston, TX., Abe Oliver & wife Lynda, Edmond, OK., Gary B. McIntire & wife Shannon, Oklahoma City, OK., Phillip Easter, McKinney, TX., Kristin Easter, Fort Worth, TX; 13 great-grandchildren: Hollis, Harris, Lindsey, Ashley, Marshall, Thomas, Lyndi, Hank, Hannah, Avery, Jacob, Justin, Arianna; 2 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Family Hour was held at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home on Sunday, April 20, 2025, from 3:00-4:00pm. Her funeral service was held at First Baptist Church of Bokchito on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00am with Preston Burns and John Frank officiating. Lou was laid to rest in the Bokchito Civic Cemetery following her funeral service. 

Her grandchildren and their spouses served as pallbearers.
