Wynona Lavonne Valentine Buxton

Wynona Lavonne Valentine Buxton passed peacefully on April 17, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on November 25, 1935, in Formosa, Arkansas, to Thurman Odus Thompson and Rosa Lee Chew. 

Wynona was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby Gene Valentine and Elgie Augustus Buxton; her children, Lavonna Jean Valentine, Bobby Gene Valentine Jr., Bobby Eugene Valentine, and Richard Alan Valentine; and her son in law, Robert Goff. 

She is survived by her granddaughters, Brandy Rundel of Durant, Oklahoma, and Jennifer and Billy Knudtson of Marietta, Oklahoma, along with three great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. 

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and the steady presence she provided to those around her. Her life was defined by her deep care for her family and the relationships she nurtured over the years. 

A private family graveside service will be held at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, Oklahoma.
